Arun’s dream dwelling in the calming countryside of Ollur in Thrissur, Kerala instantly grabs attention for its unique elevation. The perfect fusion of traditional, colonial and contemporary architectural styles adds comfort and ambience to this modern house.
The elevation has a sloped roof on two sides and a flat roof in the center. The jali wall in the brick finish in the middle is the highlight of the elevation. The dormer windows in the tile paved roof and the wooden cladding on the walls grant a majestic charm. Meanwhile, the detached car porch has been built by paving sheets on GI structure.
Designed in 2000 sqft, this amazing abode has a car porch, sit-out, formal and family living areas, kitchen with a work area and two bedrooms on the ground floor. Meanwhile, there are two more bedrooms, an upper living area and an open terrace on the upper floor.
The entrance door opens to the formal living area designed with a double-height ceiling. This makes the interiors look and feel vaster. The designer TV unit done in wooden strip paneling is an attractive feature here.
Interestingly, the family living area has been designed beneath the staircase making it extremely space efficient. Meanwhile, the custom-made furniture pieces gel well with the general theme of the house. Vitrified tiles with a matte finish have been paved on the floor in common areas. Wooden finish tiles and Lapotra granite have also been used for flooring in this house.
The wall highlighted with floating wooden paneling is what draws attention to the dining area. The wash area and the mirror with concealed LED light fittings are arranged as part of this wall.
The staircase is a simple GI structure with wooden steps. The GI hand railings add a chic elegance to the stairway.
The kitchen is spacious and has cabinets made of plywood with a laminate finish. The countertop, henceforth, has been paved with nano white. A quaint breakfast counter with high chairs on one side acts as a partition too.
The bedrooms have been designed in unique color themes. The rooms have attached bathrooms and wardrobes for storage.
Unique designer features, pleasant color themes and opulent interiors have made this house an icon in the neighborhood.
